We provide health care services to 200-250 patients per month. Every two weeks we operate Health clinics known as Operativo Medico in the barrios of Puerto Plata and provide the following services free:

• Medical exams
• Lab Work
• Medications
• Follow-up visits for patients with chronic illnesses

Working in partnership with private and public organizations such as the Public Health Department in Puerto Plata as well as individuals and churches in the community, IHOH is committed to increasing access to health care through free clinics and providing needed medications and other treatments.

Greater than 42% of the population in the Dominican Republic lives below the poverty line according to the 2007 CIA World Fact Book.  More than 65% of the population in Puerto Plata live in poverty and do not have access to medical care, chronic care management or education focusing on prevention and well-being.
