Dedicated to saving lives by improving health.

The International House of Hope (IHOH) was founded in April 2005 by a group of retired American professionals living in the Dominican Republic. They saw firsthand the consequences of poverty and poor health on the lives of families and individuals.  They conceived the concept of IHOH as an organization committed to providing access to health care and health information to the impoverished communities in and surrounding Puerto Plata on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

MISSION
Our mission is to provide access to affordable medical services to the people living in the barrios of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

We carry out our mission through the assistance of volunteer medical staff and donated medicines, equipment and supplies.

VISION
Our vision is to bring hope and change to the lives of the underserved people in the barrios of Puerto Plata through access to health care and education.

We envision a community in which all people have equal access to medical care and health information.
