A Different World

Every once in a while you get a glimpse into a world so different from yours that you wonder which one is real. Is it true she has not seen a doctor in her 26 years? The last time one was in her presence was at her birth. Every once in a while we have a chance to make a difference in the life of another.  One wonders, “Is there truth in what I see and what I feel? The lack of medical services was so apparent that band-aids were welcomed gifts. Even the thought of illness, medications and treatments is nonexistent because that is not reality. When we see the life circumstances of others and they seem beyond our concept of reality, we beg for help and cry out for support. When it is so dark, we call for a light – not to show us the way in, but to light their way out. This family of four has been infected with the AIDS Virus for the past two years. The sustenance and understanding for them to live each minute of each day is not a want; it is a need to continue life. We at the International House of Hope are helping.
